Commonly Asked Questions
Q. Can I get an estimate over the phone?
A. Absolutely! If you know the size or dimensions of your project, we can usually give you a fairly accurate or possibly exact estimate very quickly.
Actually, we prefer to do this if possible, so you know whether you would like to proceed and have us meet with you to give you a precise bid if needed.
Q. What if I don’t know the size, and I am unable to measure it?
A. We would be happy to meet with you so we may look at and/or measure your project to give you a free quote.
Q. What type of reinforcing does MAIN CONCRETE INC use; Rods, Wire Mesh, or Fibermesh?
A. Rods are by far the best reinforcing and the only thing we use.
(If we insist on rods in our own personal work, we must insist on rods for our customers as well, unlike some other local concrete companies)
• Wire mesh is a little cheaper, and does work; just not very well, and not for very long. (Wire mesh will often rust off under a sawcut or crack in less than 5 years!)
• Fibermesh is like putting manmade hair into the concrete mix and expecting it to hold concrete together in this Wisconsin weather.
We feel this is the cheap, lazy man’s reinforcing, as there is less cost, and no time spent handling real reinforcing (RODS).
We recommend steering clear of any concrete companies that use only wire or fibermesh for reinforcement, as they must have no conscience.
(We will bet, that they would use rods for their own projects)
Q. Why should I hire MAIN CONCRETE INC to do my concrete project?
A. We will not say, “Sure we can do that” unless it is done the right way, and we can actually do it well. When we are finished with a project, we want our customers happy with a quality job that will last more than a lifetime.
Q. Will I get the lowest price from MAIN CONCRETE INC?
A. Not necessarily; what you will get is a fair price on a quality job that was given the extra thought and effort to make it look better, be stronger, and last longer.
